Summit shifted to Colombo
Security considerations and logistical factors have compelled the Government to change the venue for the South Asian summit from Kandy to Colombo, a Foreign Ministry official said yesterday.

Three journalists, including Sunday Times columnist J.S.Tissanayagam, were among five arrested and detained by the Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) of the police on Friday while a fourth journalist was questioned and released last nightDeputy Inspector General W. Prathapasinghe confirmed the arrests yesterday but declined to give the reasons.
