You want Hardy special?

Today’s the last day you will be able to savour the skills of Master Chef Hardy Cheung at the Taj Samudra hotel’s Golden Dragon restaurant. A resident of Hong Kong, where he lived for 30 years, he was trained under the renowned Chef N.G. Chi Fung at some of the city’s finest restaurants including the King Heung and Hou Tak.

Armed with a wealth of knowledge and a passion to explore, chef Hardy then begun to travel the world from Indonesia to Luxembourg until he found himself in India’s bustling metro cities - Bombay and Chennai. In Chennai at Taj Coromandel, Golden Dragon, during his various stints he has become synonymous with authentic Chinese food but with the "Hardy" touch.

When Hardy sees you he is famous for asking "What you want?" And he listens and replies "Okay, I make for you special!”. Chef Hardy is here in Colombo to conjure up delightfully unique Chinese in a fabulous combination of Cantonese, Shanghai, Peking and Sichuan cuisine.

Diners can delight in an eclectic menu of inventive dishes off the special a la carte menu during both lunch and dinner. The menu includes dishes such as “Hardy Pork Spare Ribs” a crispy fried pork speciality in chilli cumin sauce or “Flame Orange Prawn” - stir fried prawn in spicy flaming orange sauce. Try out the truly unique Wu Naam Crispy Duck or the Chin Chaa Tofu both with the tangy, lingering taste of sweetbean sauce.

Guests dropping in during lunch can also indulge in the fabulous Dim Sum menu. Visit for dinner and Chef Hardy will entertain you with the skilful art of creating handmade noodles right in front of your eyes!
