CMA Sri Lanka signs Membership Pathway Agreement with CPA Australia

CMA Sri Lanka the National Professional Management Accounting Body in Sri Lanka incorporated by Act of Parliament No. 23 of 2009 signed a Membership Pathway Agreement (MPA) with CPA Australia a leading professional accounting body in Australia at the World Congress of Accountants held in Sydney Australia considering the importance of global mobility for professional accountants around the world.  This will provide opportunities for CMA members to obtain Associate Membership of CPA Australia (ASA) and a pathway to obtain exemptions at the CPA Professional Program.

The President CPA Australia stated as a leading professional accounting body in Australia and a member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) we are indeed proud to have signed a Member Pathway Agreement (MPA) with CMA Sri Lanka at the World Congress of Accountants which was held in Sydney in early November. CPA Australia were joint hosts with CA Australia for the World Congress of accountants which had over 6,000 members participating from IFAC member countries and member bodies. This MPA will enable CMA members to sit for certain specified subjects and obtain membership of CPA Australia which is one of the world’s largest accounting bodies with a global membership of more than 163,750 members (as at 31 December 2017) working in 125 countries and regions around the world.  Further CMA members will be given the opportunity to study and sit for these examinations in Sri Lanka”.

The agreement was signed at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney Australia during the World Congress of Accountants from 5th to 8th November 2018 hosted by the Chartered Accountants (CA) Australia and CPA Australia;
