New book looks at urban agriculture in Sri Lanka
View(s):Dr. Thillak T. Ranasinghe has released his book in Sinhala on urban agriculture in Sri Lanka. Titled Pawele Aarthikaya Nangwana Nagarika Krushikarmaya, it is published by S. Godage Brothers with a foreward by science writer Thusitha Malalasekera.
Dr. Ranasinghe’s latest book will be a boon to city dwellers and introduces measures such as “Vertical Living Cultivation Structures”. The author has promoted the concept of urban agriculture in Sri Lanka along with the concept of the family business garden in his earlier book as well-the “Manual of Low/No-Space Agriculture -cum- Family Business Gardens”.
