Bridgeteens pay tribute to Sirimavo Bandaranaike

A representative gathering of past pupils, teachers, and students and friends of St. Bridget’s Convent came together on January 15, at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre, to pay tribute to their most distinguished past pupil, thrice prime minister, Sirimavo Bandaranaike. The event was organised by the Past Pupils’ Association of St. Bridget’s Convent.

The President of the PPA, Dr. Nirmala Pieris introduced the orator, former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, also a distinguished past pupil who delivered an excellent and inspirational oration focused on the topic “Education of Women for Leadership”, which was well received by all present.

The formal proceedings concluded with fellowship where the past pupils relaxed with friends from their schooldays.
