“It was a wonderful experience working on the whole project, from the moment of finding a proper venue to arranging everything else ranging from food to decor. We had many options to choose from at first for a good venue, but in order to correspond with the event’s

theme of “underwater life”, the venue was finally selected to the Samudra Ballroom of the Taj Samudra Hotel, as it provides a splendid view of the sea. Then followed weeks of hard work, travelling around getting everything ready and everything we needed, such as decor stuff. We had a large emphasis on decor for the event as well to show the real feeling of life underwater. One major challenge we had was building a replica of a shipwreck, made using wood, board and much more, which involved meeting up at weekends and working all day to finish it off”.

“Finally the big night came on November 26th, and it was not just splendid, it was beyond awesome! Everything went well! It was nice to see all our senior students who’re going to enjoy their last party as students of IIT so happy to see how much of a splendid effort we have taken to throw them a party like no other. The evening was a fun-filled event, where we had a great time with our senior students who’re off to face the industry after completing their degree. There was also a raffle draw courtesy of 99x Technologies. Overall I would like to say, it was the best party IIT has had yet!” IIT student, Ushan Gunasekara revealing the experience he had.
