An allround performance by Harsha Rajapakse who cracked a 50 and grabbed four scalps and a 53 by skipper Hasitha Madushan helped Southern Province to record a massive 200 runs win over Northern Province in their Under 19 inter-provincial cricket match played at Panagoda yesterday.

Southern Province taking first lease of the wicket made 247 for 8 in their allotted 50 overs and then bundled out the hapless Northern Province for a meager 47 runs with Harsha along with Saveen Nanayakkara and A.K. Tyrone who together shared eight wickets doing the damage.

Western Province South Outer registered a 12 runs win on the Parabola System over Western Province North Outer in the match played at the Surrey Village ground in Maggona. WP South Outer batting first made 203 with Madhawa Nimesh making a run a ball knock of 70 which had nine boundaries and a six. WP North Outer in their turn was 179 for 9 when bad light stopped play.
Central Province overcame Eastern Province by two wickets in another match of the same tournament played at the R. Premadasa Stadium. The match got off to a late start at 12.15 p.m. and was curtailed to 36 overs. Eastern Province taking first lease of the wicket was bundled out for a paltry 93 while Central Province in their run chase underwent some anxious moments before reaching the target in the 28th over.

The match played at Braybrooke Place between North Central Province and Uva Province ended in a 102 runs win on the Parabola System for North Central Province. This was match too got off to a late start and was curtailed to 36 overs with North Central Province batting first making 201 for 5 with Malshan Perera making a quick fire 40 ball knock of 67 which included eight boundaries and a six.
Uva Province in reply was made to struggle for their runs and was reeling on 69 for 8 in the 28 when play was called off due to bad light giving the North Central a comfortable win.
