I wish I were Santa Claus
I wish I were
Santa Claus with a lot of money like
Saint Nicholas, to buy gifts for poor children and make them happy. It would not be just during Christmas but whenever I can, because I like the spirit of caring and sharing in life.
This makes life beautiful and meaningful with all the love and affection we receive from those who deserve them just like the joy Santa experiences when he makes little children happy by his spirit of giving. I believe that the joy in making a poor person happy is greater than making a rich person happy in life.
Children eagerly and impatiently await the arrival of Santa more than anything for Christmas. It simply shows their love and fondness for him. I too would like to earn such love and affection by making others happy. I wish I could colour every Christmas with absolute delight and spread the value and beauty of sharing and caring.

A fantastic trip to Galle
On October 16, 2012 we, the Grade 7’s of Ilma International Girls’ School went on our educational excursion to Galle. Our class was accompanied by another class and two subject teachers. We left school at about 7.45a.m. and travelled on the Galle Highway. We enjoyed the trip all the way to Galle, dancing and singing to the songs played. We had lots of fun, especially when our teachers too joined us!

We reached our first destination at 10 a.m. We learned how tea leaves were made. Next we visited the Sinharaja Forest Reserve. Our next stop was the DSI factory where we learned how our shoes are made. Then we made a quick visit to the Dutch Museum in a hurry to go to the beach! After a fun time at the beach we left Galle to return to Colombo at about 5.30p.m. We forgot our tiredness as we sang and danced with our teachers
joining us often. We reached school at 9p.m.
Though I did learn something from it,
I must say that I had more fun travelling in the bus! It was the best trip ever!

My favourite  person
My favourite person in the whole world is my mother. She wakes up early in the morning and prepares breakfast for us. My mother is the light of the family. When my sister or I fall sick, she lays awake throughout the night near our sick bed.
She helps us in our studies. My mother wants us to be good and helpful children. I love my mother and she loves me.
May God bless my mother and let her live long!

A trip to the beach
By seven o’clock we were on our way
By train to the seaside for the day
We brought nice suits
And my mother took boots
We went on singing
We went on dancing
Then we were on the beach

Happily playing
Running and enjoying
In the hot sun
Eating a bun
Going on a boat
On the water float
We saw many eels
Enjoyable feels

We had our food
It was very good
We went to our home
Then it started to storm
In a joyous way
We had a good day
