New preschool and early education policy created

Government has formulated a preschool and early education policy which will be made available for public comments shortly, Deputy Minister of Education Madura Seneviratne said.

The National Education Council, the Ministry of Education and the Child Affairs Ministry have jointly worked on the policy he said.

Under the proposed changes there will be a uniform syllabus for teachers in the preschool/early education sector to follow.

There will also be regulations of early education centers/institutes, he added.
