Azerbaijan offers undergraduate, postgraduate scholarships
View(s):Azerbaijan has invited applications for the award of three undergraduate/postgraduate (Master’s/PhD) scholarships offered by the Heydar Aliyev-International Education Grant Program for the academic year 2026/27.
Applicants for the undergraduate scholarships should be below 35 years of age as of November 15 and should have educational qualifications such as minimum of 3 passes at the GCE (A/L) examination – 2024. They are required to have a minimum IELTS 5.0 (TOEFL40).
Applicants for master’s degree should be below 45 years as of November 15. They should have a bachelor’s degree from a University Grants Commission recognised university and should have minimum IELTS 5.5 (TOEFL 50).
Applicants for the PhD should be below 45 years as of November 15. They should have a master’s degree from a UGC recognised university and a minimum IELTS 5.5(TOEFL50).
Undergraduate degree applicants should not be registered or following a course at a state university as an internal student. They should be in good health and ready to live in Azerbaijan during the period of study.

Undergraduate students are advised not to apply for medical-related degree programmes in Azerbaijan universities, as they are not recognised by the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) as of now.
The applicants would be awarded a tuition fee for the study period.
An international economy class flight ticket to Baku, Azerbaijan (from the country of origin and from Azerbaijan (to the country of origin respectively) once a year would be provided.
A yearly allowance of 800 AZN (470 USD) for accommodation, daily expenses, education materials (10 months each year, except July and August) would be provided.
Yearly allowance of 200 AZN (117 USD) would be provided for medical care and medication during the period in Azerbaijan. A single-entry visa to Azerbaijan, as well as the temporary residence permits for the stay in the country for the period of each academic year would be provided.

Applicants should only submit one application via the online portal and are not required to send them by post.
No application from permanent employees of government sector, university or a state corporation will be entertained unless channeled through the head of the institution concerned.
