J’Pura Uni hosts Research Awards Ceremony
View(s):The University of Sri Jayewardenepura hosted its Research Awards Ceremony 2024/2025, organised by the Research Council, last week at the Golden Rose Hotel.
The event celebrated research excellence and outstanding scholarly contributions across the university.
Vice Chancellor Senior Prof Pathmalal Manage, Research Council co-chairs Prof Pradeepa Jayawardane and Prof Roshan Ajward, University Council members, former vice chancellors, deans, research council members, academic and administrative staff, attended the event.
A total of 383 awardees were honored under 11 award categories, including the prestigious Vice Chancellor’s Award – Prof Imalka Munaweera, Young Researcher Award 2024 – Dr Kasun Thambugala and Young Researcher Award 2025 – Dr Saranga Diyabalanage.
In total, 881 awards were distributed among the faculties, reflecting the breadth and impact of research conducted at USJ.
A key highlight was the launch of “Vidyodaya Vision – Edition III,” together with the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Research Council.
The ceremony brought together distinguished academics, researchers, and university leadership in a vibrant gathering that underscored the university’s commitment to advancing impactful research.
