LNBTI Hosts and Excels at First-Ever 24-Hour International CTF Challenge: “Battle of the Multiverse ’26”

The Lanka Nippon BizTech Institute (LNBTI) successfully hosted its inaugural 24-hour international Capture the Flag (CTF) cybersecurity competition, Battle of the Multiverse ’26, from March 21 (9:00 AM) to March 22 (9:00 AM). This landmark event was the first-ever 24-hour international CTF challenge held in Sri Lanka.
The competition was organised by LNBTI and its Cyber Security Club, in cooperation with JETRO. The event was supported by the following sponsors:

Technical support was provided by Legion, a premier cybersecurity consultancy firm in Sri Lanka, while media coverage was handled by the LNBTI Media Club.
The competition brought together top talent from leading Sri Lankan universities and prestigious Japanese institutions, creating a highly competitive and dynamic cybersecurity battleground. Participating teams included the University of Moratuwa (3 teams), CICRA Campus (2 teams), SLIIT (2 teams), University of Sri Jayewardenepura (1 team), NSBM (1 team), ESU (1 team), LNBTI (1 team + 2 solo participants), Waseda University – Japan (1 team), and the Kyushu Institute of Technology – Japan (1 solo participant).
The winning team hailed from the University of Moratuwa, while the first and second runners-up were both from CICRA Campus. The event featured an impressive prize pool of 250,000 LKR.

In a remarkable dual achievement, LNBTI not only organized the event but also delivered an outstanding competitive performance. Multiple LNBTI teams secured positions within the Top 10, competing alongside well-established public and private universities.
