Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya will lead the Sri Lanka delegation to the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, later this month. She will be accompanied by Deputy Finance Minister Anil Jayantha and Foreign Ministry officials.

The Prime Minister will hold several bilateral meetings during the visit and discuss investment opportunities in Sri Lanka as well as discuss ways to increase tourist arrivals.

The Davos gathering, which brings together world leaders from government, business, civil society and academia, will be held from January 19 to 23. The theme of the meeting is ‘A Spirit of Dialogue’, and the attendees will engage in forward-looking discussions to address global issues and set priorities.

Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath said that since Sri Lanka did not attend last year’s meeting as the new government had just taken office, this time a high-level delegation led by the PM would be there.
US President Donald Trump is expected to be among the attendees at the World Economic Forum.
