The sittings of the District Court, Kandy will resume on Monday, after a grace period given to clear up the premises and identify the files damaged in the recent flooding, a court official said.
However, some of the files have been damaged and some of the cases would have to be conducted by reconstructing the files with the consent of the parties, the official said.
The case numbers of damaged files have been circulated, while further identification of damaged files is underway.
Chief Justice Preethi Padman Surasena recently visited the court complex in Kandy which was affected by the flooding and gave instructions on resuming work at the court premises.
