Two more students from Asian International School (AIS) – Mannooj Chandrasekeran and Pradeen Barthiban – will be heading to Iowa State University (www.iastate.edu) this fall to become Engineers. As many AIS alumni in the past they too were assisted by Scholarships for USA (Pvt) Ltd (www.scholarshipsforusa.com) island’s top independent student recruiters to US. Among many amazing offers SUSA was able to attract for Mannooj and Pradeen (almost overnight) both opted for Iowa State – among the ten largest engineering schools in the nation. Both have received ISU’s top global scholarships.

Iowa State University of science and Technology was established in 1858 and is one of the oldest land grant institutes of the nation. Currently it has over 31,000 students of whom over 25,000 are undergrads from all states in US and from over 100 foreign countries. 11% of them (3,510) are international students. US News & World Report recently ranked few of its programmes among top 25 US graduate programmes and Fiske guide to Colleges 2013 identified it among the 20 public universities listed as “Best Buy”. This is where the 2011 Nobel prize winner in Chemistry Dan Shechtman teaches and engages in research. It was here the world’s first electronic computer was invented. This is also where the world’s highest-res immersive virtual reality lab throws 16.7 million pixels on a single wall.

Asian International School works closely with SUSA to enable its graduates to receive the best scholarships, most affordable cost and fastest admissions from a selected group of US colleges and universities that partner with SUSA. Operated by two parents whose children benefited immensely by US liberal arts education and in existence for the past 12 years SUSA has promoted US education across the island as never before making it affordable and accessible to largest number of Lankan youth from all corners and ethno-religious groups.

It was a happy coincidence for Ms.Goolbai Gunasekara Director AIS to congratulate Pradeen and Mannooj on her birthday and heading to a school where her mother – renowned educationist Ms.Clara Motwani – had once graduated from. Ms.Priyanthi Dissanayake MD/SUSA too joined the celebration. When asked to evaluate services rendered by SUSA Mannooj said “it was a great experience to be guided by them where the commitment was 100% and the speed was express”. Added Pradeen; “I never felt dealing with a business entity – rather like with own grand-parents – only slightly younger”.
