Pakistan has awarded educational scholarships to 150 Sri Lankan GCE- O/L and A/L students under the Jinnah Scholarship Programme 2013.

The Pakistan High Commission in Colombo held the Scholarship awards ceremony at Ananda College Colombo.

The High Commissioner of Pakistan to Sri Lanka, Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Qasim Qureshi, congratulating the students for their academic achievements, expressed hope that they would continue to excel in their academic pursuits. Chief Guest- Education Ministry Coordinating MP Mohan Lal Grero said that the scholarship programme has benefited students from all communities over the past eight years.

In addition to the Jinnah Educational scholarships, every year, the government of Pakistan offers fully funded scholarships to pursue higher professional education in Pakistan in Medicine, Engineering, Pharmacy and Dentistry, to Sri Lankan students.
