Trinity College Kandy Rugby team for 2013 under full back Halique Wadood met their Old boys in their traditional encounter played for at their Rugby Carnival day encounter played at Pallekelle yesterday. Old Boys won the game by 50-25 which was played fo A G Frazer Trophy. Rehan Weerakoon was judged Player of the match.
Trinity Old Boys were represented by some outstanding players such as Shashan Mohamed, Murad Ramzeen, Sanjaya Somasiri, Rehan Weerakoon, Thisila Karunatilake, Kaneel Seneviratne and Sean Wijesinghe to name a few.
The game was refereed by Mahesh Gunaratne and S W Chang.

There were games from Under 10 onwards and a large crowd witnessed the young “Lions” performing in their own den. Under 10, Under 12 and Under 14 games were played between Trinity squad players while the Under 16 and 2nd XV games were against Kingswood College and the Under 18 encounter was with St. Sylvester’s College Kandy.

Trinity beat Kingswood in the under 16 game by 20-0 while the 2nd XV encounter too was won by Trinity against the Randles Hill school 35-0. Trinity got the better of St Sylvester’s College in the under 18 game by 20-10.

Trinity will kick off their Singer League 2013 when they lock horns with Dharmaraja on 17 march at Pallekelle one day after their 50 overs Limited over Cricket encounter with St Anthony’s College at Asgiriya.
