Breaking Rules

A few weeks ago the Sports Act came into being and a big noise was made that those who do not toe the line with the new act will be in grave trouble. The nominations were to be handed over to the country’s highest sports body and they were to decide on the nominations as the AGMs are around the corner. There are 49 sports associations and it being a great task the sports body has decided to switch back to the old format. It looks as if those who are making the rules are now breaking them!

Political reasons?

The fact that a former head of a sports body has decided to seek election at the AGM concerned has prompted sports lovers to ask why this sudden decision and whether the move has been formulated by a higher authority. Could this be due to political reasons? Anyway when the election does takes place, sparks are bound to fly and we wonder as to which way the events will turn.

Secret ballot

Two Generals are at loggerheads over the AGM of their sports body. The latest on this issue is that the AGM of this sports body will be held under a secret ballot, which is against all regulations. Those in the know say that moves are afoot to remove the present Major and replace him with another. The latest regulation, they say is from a higher-up who wants his favourite elected to this august body.

In deep trouble

A certain umpire is trying to be the head of this committee. The rule says firmly that those seeking posts to this body should have played cricket at least at the Inter-Club level. This official has been doing the leg work visiting clubs seeking a letter to the effect that he has played Inter-Club cricket but no club official is willing to give a letter of this nature, putting the candidate in deep trouble.

A worried lot

Contract workers of a certain sports body, which is very much in the news these days, are a worried lot. They are wondering who will triumph at the AGM. But this has not deterred them. They are crowding around both candidates so that whoever wins will support them so that their jobs will be secure.

Two headed snakes

There is a lot of activity behind the scenes regarding the AGM of a popular sports body which has very powerful connections worldwide. Talks are being held almost everyday over who will be the boss of this sports body. Anyway there is a very influential person in this body who is very worried that when the new head takes over he will have no place in the present body. This particular person has been in the scene for quite a spell and is well known specially in the Middle Eastern countries. It looks as if those who have been pally with this official too are trying to under cut him. Someone said like Depath Nai (Two Headed Snakes)
