Aussie batting flounder once more

After making positive noises all week about how the Chennai massacre was a learning experience for the bowling attack, Australia’s selectors made a late decision to swing the axe – then watched in horror as a decision to bat turned into an early batting collapse.
Captain Michael Clarke won the toss, then the No. 5 batsman found himself walking out to the crease at 3-57, before being dismissed for 91. Just before stumps, Australia declared at 9-237.
Clarke was let down by his top order as David Warner (six), Ed Cowan (four), Phil Hughes (19) and Shane Watson (23) fell cheaply.
Earlier, off-spinner Nathan Lyon was dumped for left-arm spinner Xavier Doherty, while left-arm quick Mitchell Starc was replaced by off-spinning all-rounder and debutant Glenn Maxwell.
