Both Athena House and Pegasus House shared the Mariam Iqbal Challenge Trophy for Overall House Championship at the annual Inter-House Swimming Meet of Wycherley International School which was held on February 1 at the Royal College Swimming Pool.
The programme commenced with the unfurling of the flags. It was followed by the three best swimmers at the Inter-International Meet, Taalib Haniff, Vishma De Silva and Alefia Mohamed Ali swimming one length and then moving to the centre of the pool to pick up three souvenirs. These were presented to the Principal Kingsley Jayasinghe, the Vice Principal Mrs. Tilekaratne and Julian Bowling, the Wycherley Squad Coach.
Wycherley encourages sporting events because indulging in them with the true spirit of sportsmanship teaches children to practise honesty and fair play in their lives.
