They also emerged the winners of the National Aquatic Championship 2012 and the Sri Lanka Schools Aquatic Sports Water Polo championship.

Additionally, they also overcame their archrivals Ladies College 5 – 4 in a hectic and keenly-contested event. Although rain brought the game to a premature end, the relevant authorities presented the M.N. Edissuriya Trophy to the Vishakians.

Skipper Limashi Kosgodage has been one of the side’s outstanding players. Among the others who have excelled are vice captain Akshana Perera, Varuni and Thusari Ekanayake, Vinuri Wijewickrama Omasha Katuwapitiya and Sachini Seneviratne.

One special achievement of Vishaka is that 10 of its players have been selected to the national squad these players toured Dubai, Kazakhstan and Indonesia from 2011 to 2012.

Vishakians will have Thusari Ekanayake as its new captain next year. She is the sister of Varuni Ekanayake, who was vice captain last year. Both represented the schools Under 19 team this year.
