Vijaya College Matale and hosts Pushpadana Girls’ College Kandy emerged boys and girls Champions respectively, at the invitational Under 19 schools hockey sixes, conducted by Pushpadana Girls’ College Kandy to mark the 70th anniversary of the school at the Asgiriya Stadium in Kandy recently. Vijaya College Matate, through a goal each from Malinga Bandara, Sithum Munasinghe and Buddhika Peiris, beat Kingswood Kandy, whose cause was helped by goals from Sahan Ratnayake, 3-1 in the boys’ final.

A solitary goal from Jeevanthi Jayaratne gave Pushpadana’s girls a 1-0 win over Sri Sangamitta Matale to clinch the girls’ title.
