Expo Lanka prevailed over Amana Takaful by two goals to nil in their MFA ‘A’ division knock-out tournament soccer fixture at the CR and FC grounds recently. At half time Expo Lanka led 1-0.

The opening goal of the game when an Amana Takaful defender, headed the ball into his own goal to put Expo Lanka one up in the 31st minute of play.
After the turn around in the 78th minute, left extreme Niran Kanishka made it 2-0 and victory for Expo Lanka.

The game was refereed by Tharanga Kumara, while the match co-ordinator was K.A.G. Gunasena and the commissioner was Anton Atapattu. (BM)

Shan Travels inflict heavy defeat on Amana Bank

Shan Tarvels inflicted a heavy 5-0 defeat on Amana Bank in their MFA ‘B’ division knock out soccer fixture at the CR and FC ground recently. At the short whistle Shan Travels held a 2-0 lead.

Centre forward M.N.M. Shamlan put Shan Travels one up in the 10th minute of play and in the 20th minute, left extreme A.M.F. Crusz made it 2-0.
After the resumption, right extreme V. Rajendran got his boot working to make it 3-0 in the 35th minute and 10 minutes later mid field T.Z. Azardeen gave Shan Travels their fourth goal. The final goal of the game was off the boot of right extreme M.H. Perera in the 56th minute.

The game was controlled by Suranga Fernando, the co-ordinator was A.G. Mendis and match commissioner was Anton Atapattu.

Lake House beat Virtusa 4-0

Lake House defeated Virtusa 4-0 in their MFA ‘B’ division knock out soccer match at the CR and FC ground recently. At half time the tally was 3-0 in favour of the winners.

While centre forward N.A.D. W. Hettiarachchi scored twice in the 5th and 15th minutes, mid field M.V. Surendran added two more in the 25th and 52nd minutes.

The game was refereed by R.S. Ratnayake, while co-ordinator was A.G. Mendis and the match commissioner was Anton Atapattu.

SriLankan Airlines down Commercial Leasing

SriLankan Airlines downed Commercial Leasing by two goals to nil in their MFA ‘B’ division knock out football match at the CR and FC ground recently.

All goals were scored in the first half of the game.

Left extreme opened the scoring in the 3rd minute for SriLankan Airlines and mid field O.B.C. Fonseka made it 2-0 in the 20th minute.

The game was refereed by R. Prashanth, while the co-ordinator was Piyal Perera and the match commissioner was Anton Atapattu. (BM)

Ananda Kumar boots hat trick for HNB

Mid field Ananda Kumar booted a hat trick for Hatton National Bank when they drubbed John Keells Group 6-0 in a MFA ‘A’ division knock out soccer fixture at the CR and FC grounds recently. At half time, the bankers led 2-0.

In the 19th minute of play, S.P. Wickrematilake converted penalty for HNB and in the 35th, right extreme B.R.A. Preena made it 2-0.

After the turn around, centre forward W.A.S. Gunawardena added the third and in the 53rd, 58th and 62nd minutes, Kumar completed his hat trick to give HNB a 6-0 win.

Colombo Dockyard in 5-0 win over CIFL

Colombo Dockyard had an easy 5-0 win over CIFL in their MFA ‘B’ division soccer fixture at the CR and FC ground recently. At the break, the winners lead 2-0.

The scorers for Colombo Dockyard were left extreme W.V.B. Fernando in the 3rd minute, centre forward R.W.S. Weerasinghe in the 5th, right extreme S. Nimesh in the 50th, while mid field T.W.S. Kumara booted two in the 40th and 52nd minutes.

The game was controlled by M.U.S. Kumara.

HSBC in 2-1 win over Seylan Bank

Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank posted a 2-1 win over Seylan Bank in their MFA ‘B’ division soccer fixture at the CR and FC grounds recently. At the short whistle, HSBC le 1-0.

For HSBC, mid field Askar Ali booted both goals in the 14th and 38th minutes, while centre forward J. Irshad scored for Seylan Bank in the 35th minute.
