Sri Lanka cricketer Malinda Warnapura took a step further in his career by initiating a cricket centre last weekend. The academy has been named as Warnes and Hands Cricket Centre is located at Hokandara Road, Thalawathugoda and offers many facilities to cricketers of any age category.

The cricket centre is a joint venture of Warnapura and former Ananda College and Bloomfield cricketer Chaminda Handunetti. The centre includes two turf pitches, a matting track and an Astro turf which will be hired out for cricketers and academies for practicing purposes.

The opening ceremony of cricket centre took place last Friday with legendary off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan gracing the occasion as the chief guest. Many of Warnapura’s cricketing colleagues were also present at the occasion.
