University of Sri Jayewardenepura forges stronger global academic alliances
View(s):Scholarship opportunities for Masters and PhD study programmes at Ural State University Economics are now available for students pursuing the Professional Diploma in Russian Language Centre at Sri Jayewardenepura University under the newly established scholarship schemes.
The University of Sri Jayewardenepura also exchanged proposals with the Ural State University of Economics (USUE) for sending students for postgraduate programmes, students and staff exchange programmes at the recently concluded XV Eurasian Economic Youth Forum, Yekaterinburg, Russia.

Vice Chancellor Professor Pathmalal Manage, and Professor Shirantha Heenkenda, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, participated at the event.
According to Prof Heenkenda, the forum served as a dynamic platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and the exploration of international partnerships.
“We had a series of high-level discussions with Professor Yakov Silin, Rector of USUE, and Professor Roman Krasnov, Vice-Rector of USUE, focusing on a wide range of cooperative initiatives, including the development of joint research projects, academic staff and student exchange programmes, and broader institutional collaborations aimed at enhancing academic excellence and global engagement,” he explained.
The USJP delegates also participated in Forum of Rectors of Universities of Russia and Foreign Countries, held at the Governor’s Residence, where high-level meeting among senior academic leaders from across the globe discussed strategies for advancing international higher education and fostering global academic solidarity.
The USJP delegates were also engaged in the “Dialogue on Equal Terms,” a gathering of ambassadors, consuls, and students, offering opportunity for cultural diplomacy and international networking, and International Diplomatic Forum, an influential meeting attended by leaders of major public associations, business communities, and governmental authorities.
