Japanese scholarship programme application extended
View(s):The Ministry of Higher Education had announced that the Japanese Government (MEXT) -2026 scholarship programme has extended the application deadline.
According to the Higher Education Ministry website, the application deadline of the Japanese Government (MEXT) -2026 scholarship programme has been extended to June 06, 2025 as notified by the Embassy of Japan in Sri Lanka.
This extension is granted in order to enable students who recently received the results of the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination – 2024 which was released April 26, 2025.
The extension was given to enable students in the Mathematics stream subjects: such as Chemistry, Physics, and Combined Mathematics to apply for the programme.
All eligible applicants are requested to submit their duly completed applications via the online portal specified in the web notice issued by the Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education. -KW
