J’Pura Uni to launch course on waste management
View(s):The Centre for Sustainability (CFS) of the Sri Jayewardenepura University is set to launch a short course on integrated solid waste management and sustainable practices.
This programme is developed to cater to a broad spectrum of stakeholders involved in sustainability and waste management.
The CFS is a body for professional environmental services, research and extension, affiliated to the Department of Forestry and Environmental Sciences (DFES) of
the university.
The course is targeted for university students, aspiring professionals and researchers seeking specialised knowledge and practical skills in sustainable waste management, government authority personnel, policymakers and practitioners engaged in the development and implementation of waste management strategies, and representatives from non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and community leaders including key actors in grassroots-level environmental and sustainability initiatives.
It is also meant for local government officials and individuals responsible for municipal waste management and sustainability planning.
