New meet for juniors
View(s):The Sri Lanka Schools Athletic Association has introduced a new junior athletic meet in place of the regular John Tarbet Under 12 event, following a recent ruling by the Ministry of Education not to permit any competitive sports for those below this age group.
The new junior meet has been named the Kids Athletic Meet and the event will be worked off initially in five provinces from this year onwards.
Meanwhile the junior John Tarbet track and field meet will be worked off in Navalapitiya in June and the senior John Tarbet meet will be worked off at the Sugathadasa Stadium in September this year- Bandula Molligoda
