Dharmaraja beat Kingswood by 27 runs in what turned out to be an apology for a limited overs match. Put into bat on an Asgiriya turf that was heavily weighted in favour of the spinners, the Rajans struggled as they axed out for 79 runs. Left-armers Menaka Lankatilleka (2 for 28), Asanka Bandara (4 for 24) and offie Tharindu Liyanage (3/8 in 6.2 overs) combined effectively to rout the Rajans.
The winners struck back through Aravinda Vithanarachchi (4 for 7), Tharusha Weragoda (3 for 4), Deneth Lanka and Lakshan de Silva. The highest individual score in the match, which was 16, was achieved by three players. That tells its own tale.
Dharmaraja 79 all out in 35.3 overs (Kavindu Thimud 16, Aravinda Vithanarachchi 16n.o, Menaka Lankatilleka 2/28, Asanka Bandara 4/24, Tharindu Liyanage 3/8)
