‘Millewa Walawwa’ to unravel mysteries of a mansion

The telefilm ‘Millewa Walawwa’ revolves around a series of mysteries relating to a mansion called ‘Millewa Walawwa’ and it is directed by a young director namely Sunetha Malinga Lokuhewa who hopes to start its shooting soon.
With a cast of talented and budding stars ‘Millewa Walawwa’ will be be played by Dhananjaya Siriwardena, Champa Sriyani, Nimanthi Porage, Gayesha Perera, Cletus Mendis, Maureen Charuni, Nalin Pradeed Uduwela, Nirosha Herath, Sahan Ranwala, Gamini Hettiarachchi, Guwani Chapa, Anura Jayasekara, Sathsara Sawan and Tharaka Adhikari.

Set in an old mansion, the story revolves around Ashoka, the son who inherits a massive property and lives in it with his newly wedded bride Sujatha. The series of mysteries start on the very day of the marriage with none of the relatives from Asoka’s family participates in the wedding. Sujatha’s parents try to clarify this as it was ade known to them that both mother and father of the groom who were abroad had died recently and the wedding was held as scheduled.

The new couple enters ‘Millewa Walawwa’ and is welcomed by Ashoka’s elder sister Nalani who is on a wheelchair and unable to talk. Sujatha realizes that there is another person upstairs held up in a room in the Walawwa and she was prohibited to go there. As the time passes Nalani who is unable to communicate properly tries to free the person who is being kept forcibly by trying to give details to Sujatha. As time passes Sujatha realizes that her husband Ashoka is a heavy smoker and he was not the person she knew before marriage. Ashoka dislikes Sujatha’s parents coming to see her regularly.

Why is a man being confined to a Walawwa and what is his connection to the family? Why does Nalini try to free him? What would be the future of Sujatha who dreamt of a happy family life? We would have to wait till once ‘Millewa Walawwa’ is completed and released on the miniscreen.

Co-produced by Prabath Roshan and Iroshana Gayan Weerakone, screenplay of ‘Millewa Walawwa’ is by Chinthaka Peiries and camera direction by Prabath Roshan while art direction is handled by Ajith Hathwella. The teledrama is to be edited by Shan Alwis and musical score is by Ravi Hanz.
