Happy Birthday Funday Times

The most surprising day was August 12, 2012. It was the Funday Times newspaper’s birthday. I think it was the 12th Anniversary. Though the day is past, it’s Ok, I will wish you Happy Birthday!

The first times I saw the Funday Times newspaper, I was so happy to see the children’s talents. I thought that I must also send my articles to Funday Times. So, this article is to you, to wish you a Happy 12th Anniversary!

My trip to Nuwara Eliya

I went to Nuwara Eliya last Thursday. It was so cold. The temperature was 15ºC. Nuwara Eliya is one of the coldest places in Sri Lanka.
I saw the beautiful lake, the golf ground and lots of horses. On the way back home I went to see the Ambewela and New Zealand farms. I like Nuwara Eliya and I enjoyed my trip very much.

Goodbye ‘Pancha’

You were a fine companion to me. You always jumped here and there when you saw me. I can remember your arrival…
It was a fine Saturday evening.

I was playing my piano. My mother came home after work. A parcel was in her hands. It was a small box. Mother told me that it was a gift for me. I opened it carefully. I saw that you were sleeping in the box nicely. You were the small squirrel that I called ‘Pancha’. That is the way you came to me. You spent three months with me. What a happy period.

But today, when I came home after school, my nanny gave me the most unpleasant message I ever had. A snake had bitten you.
You were gone. My fine companion – goodbye to you.

I love you so much Pancha, I will remember you throughout my life.

Head Prefect

It was on the 9th of June, 2012 that my teacher-in-charge, Mrs. Ilham announced at the morning assembly that I had been selected as the Head Prefect of my school. This took me by surprise as there were other students who were attending school, before I joined.

My best friend Fathima Sarah Yahya was selected as a prefect and the other prefects were Safa Munafer and Rashid Rizvi. We four students were simply shocked and happy. Our dear Principal Mrs. F. Rila, congratulated us on our achievement. There were several teachers and students who wished us ‘Good luck’ in our duties.

Although our school is small but well disciplined, our task ahead of us is not so easy. Our teachers also advised us how to handle the little kids. So, we hope to do our best for our school. We four prefects also made a resolution that we will carry out our duties to the best of our abilities.

My favourite author

My favourite author is
Enid Blyton. She has written many books and series too. She is a very good author. She has won many prizes for her stories.
I have already read
‘The Secret Seven’,
‘The Famous Five;,
‘The Wishing Chair’,
‘The Five Find-Outers and Dog’, ‘The St. Clare’s’ and ‘The Caravan Family’. Her stories are very interesting.
I have read her funny stories like ‘Bimbo and Topsy’, ‘Don’t be silly
Mr. Twiddle’ and ‘Noddy’.
Enid Blyton was born on August 11, 1897 in Great Britain. She studied at Ipswich High School. She lived in Green Hedges.
My favourite book is the Famous Five. I think that Enid Blyton is the most loved author in the world. She has written many mystery stories. She died on November 28, 1968.
If she was alive, she would have written more and more interesting stories.
I love her books a lot.
