Matale Football League honours players

The annual awards ceremony of the Matale Football League took place at the Bernard Aluvihare Stadium in Matale.

St. Thomas’ College Matale, winners of the Matale Inter-School Under 19 Futsal Championships and were runners-up in the Under 19 Inter-School Championships 2009.
All schools which participated in the Inter-School Under 19 Futsal Championships 2009 received two footballs each. Picture shows a skipper of a participating school receiving the gifts. The champions and runners-up of the Matale Inter-School and Inter-Club football tournaments for 2009 with the blessings of the FFSL, received medals, trophies and certificates at the colourful ceremony. The event was attended by officials of the Football Federation of Sri Lanka namely Hurley Silverina (President FFSL), Gamini Randeni (former DIG and present Chairman Tournament Committee FFSL), RME Mahindapala (Director Youth Development) and members of the Matale FL Executive Committee.

Results of the tournaments conducted by the Matale Football League in 2009: Matale region Inter-School under 15 football championship. Champions: Ajmir National School Ukkuwela; Runners-up: Zahira College Matale.

Matale Region Inter-School Under 19 football tournament. Champions: Hindu College Matale; Runners-up: St. Thomas’ Matale.

Matale Region Inter-School Futsal championships: Champions: St. Thomas’ College Matale; Runners-up: Hindu College Matale.

Matale District Under 21 Inter-Club Junior League league competition. Champions: Jolly Boys SC Matale; Runners-up: Mastery SC Matale.

Matale District Inter-Club league championship for the Matale FL Trophy. Champions: Jolly Boys SC Matale; Runners-up: Municipal SC Matale.
