A two-member committee, consisting of PCB Chief Operating Officer Wasim Bari and Director Cricket Operations Zakir Khan, will finalize the list as the selection committee has no role in giving it a final shape.
It is learnt that Shoaib, who has been sidelined from international cricket due to fitness problems, will not get next year’s central contract. To get the contract Shoaib will have to play domestic cricket to prove his fitness and form. However, he only has Pentangular Cup to prove his fitness, and that too, if he is given a chance to get a place in the Rest of Pakistan team as special case.

Shoaib, who has made headlines in the past on many occasions due to his on and off the field activities and was considered a key part of the fast bowling attack, is no more wanted by the Pakistan Cricket Board.
Mainly because due to recovery of Mohammad Aamir and Mohammad Asif’s comeback.

Sources said a proposal is also under consideration to award at least retainership to those cricketers who would be declared as best bowler, batsman, fielder and wicket-keeper of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy. The Dawn.
