Maleena Awn the star

Seventeen-year-old Ladies College schoolgirl Maleena Awn stole almost all the honours at the Oman Air Stableford Golf Championships held at the picturesque Victoria Golf Club Course. The tournament was organized by the Victoria Golf and Country Resort.

Maleena won three events, while Neil Joseph and young Chamil Wickremasinghe turned up trumps in their respective events.

The results are as follows:
Longest drive (men): Nilkamal Perera; (women) Maleena Awn.
Nearest to the Pin (men) Sunil Jayakody; (women) Maleena Awn.
Men’s Nett Division B: Ajith Krishantha; A Div: Harin Udeshi.
Combined ladies and men’s gross winner: Chamil Wickremasinghe.
Stableford Overall winner: Neil Joseph; Runner-up: Anura Dantanarayana.
Ladies nett winner: Maleena Awn.
Maleena Awn played to a handicap of 10; Neil Joseph to a handicap of 18 and Chamil Wickremasinghe to a handicap of 5. - AK
