CSBA elects Dimuthu as President
View(s):Stockbrokers who were divided on various issues elected a new President to the Colombo Stock Brokers Association (CSBA) last week.
CEO of Asha Phillip Securities Dimuthu Abeyesekera was unanimously elected as the new Chairman of the CSBA at its Annual General Meeting. He succeeded Sriyan Gurusinghe of LOLC Securities who held the post for several years.
Some four members left CSBA as of last year, while Capital Alliance Ltd was the last to exit last month on issues relating to questions of alleged market manipulation that have surfaced in the market. Mr. Abeyesekera told the Business Times that he wants to do some ‘good’ to the capital market.
