cost so that students can complete all programs entirely in Sri Lanka. Faculty consists of several departments, namely Communication, New Media, Vocational and Further Education to strengthen the entire sphere of education and training to suit today's needs not only in Sri Lanka but also outside Sri Lanka especially people seeking qualifications to work off-shores.
SAITM labs are equipped with latest high-end iMac computers apart from host of specially configured PCs for multimedia production. Dedicated laboratories for computer graphics related programs (the largest high-end Apple iMac lab in Sri Lanka) and for communication and networking technologies, a well equipped data communication laboratory consisting of modern facilities are the unique features of the Faculty. A fully equipped machine communication lab is being done in order to conduct CISCO Networking Academy programs in the near future. The Green Campus has a dedicated high speed fibre optic leased line from Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) for the students to enjoy the internet to the fullest.
SAITM also has access to the Learning Resource Development Centre (LDRC) at the Ministry of Vocational and Technical Training, enabling their students to use state-of-the-art audio/video studio facilities.
This studio is equipped with DMX driven dimmers that controls advanced fixtures and special effects devices such as fog machines and moving lights. It also boasts a uniform backdrop that can be used for chroma-key exercises and special effects.
Department of New Media
University of Wolverhampton and the University of Buckingham have come forward to offer their degrees at SAITM. While the degree from the University of Wolverhampton requires 3 years of study, the Buckingham degree takes only two years. This fast-track program allows students obtain employment within just two years!
The degree from the University of Wolverhampton recognises Edexcel Higher National Diploma in Interactive Media as an entry criterion. Students following the Edexcel HND are only required to complete the Wolverhampton third year to obtain their degree.
