Sri Lanka girls qualify at Asia- Oceania World Juniors tennis

The Sri Lankan girls’ Under 14 team lost to Vietnam 1-2 in the finals of the pre-qualifying tournament held in Kuching Malaysia and claimed the second spot on the last day of the Asia-Oceania Zone World Junior Tennis tournament, played under the aegis of the International Tennis Federation.
In previous matches, the Sri Lanka team beat Turkmenistan 3-0 and Kyrgyzstan 3-0. Both Sri Lanka and Vietnam have now qualified for the final qualifying event scheduled to be held from April 15-20 in East Malaysia.
The Sri Lanka girls’ Under 14 team comprised Medhira Samarasinghe, Rukshika Wijesuriya and Serena Madanayake with the non-playing captain being Sankha Atukorale.
