Upul Sanjeewa, representing the Special Task Force of Sri Lanka Police, won the prestigious Air Force Cycling Rally, which was held for the 63rd occasion over a distance of 425 kilometres. Sanjeewa took nearly 10 hours to complete the race, which was held in three stages in three days. The champion rider has won many races since entering the competitive arena in 1994. An Old Boy of Siri Parakumba Maha Vidyalaya in Rajagiriya, Sanjeewa has represented Sri Lanka at international races in Malaysia, Pakistan and Qatar and has won two silver medals at the South Asian Games.
