Kavinda Silva produced a superb allround effort to steer Commercial Credit to seventh heaven when they beat Mobitel to clinch the Elephant Lemonade trophy after winning the MCA Division ‘D’ final played at the MCA ground yesterday. Man-of-the-match Silva clobbered an unbeaten 63 off 61 balls inclusive of five boundaries and three sixes to help Commercial Credit reach 107 losing just two wickets with 146 balls to spare. Mobitel elected to bat first and were shot out for 103 after the match was reduced to 45 overs per side due to a rain stoppage. Silva and Malith Fernando grabbed three wickets each. Commercial Credit will be promoted to the Division ‘C’ next season.
