The Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association has requested to the Education Ministry that International schools should also be given permission to participate in inter-schools cricket tournaments in future.

The Ministry however indicated that their request would be considered if they give an assurance that their participation in the tournament would not hamper in the matters of discipline.

At present mixed schools participate in the tournaments without any hindrance.

If permission is granted to international schools, they should be prepared to maintain the game’s high standard of discipline.

Meanwhile a spokesmen of Education Ministry said it has been decided to reduce the number of participating teams in the Division One school cricket.
