I was happy to read in your news paper recently that six or seven powerful unions have gone to the Supreme Court to protest against the plundering of the EPF and other state funds.

The lonely voice of Dr Harsha De Silva has finally got a kick up from the unions. In the glaring TFC deal the culprits are still at large, only a bystander got kicked out to save the rest. All the culprits behind the share purchases that were done way above market prices are still at large. The EPF Suprintendent responsible for managing the fund should be severely charged for executing those transactions.

The rest of the people also who are happily partying at the expense of the poor workers should be identified and dealt with according to the law. At least now we all hope justice will prevail and the culprits will get the justice they deserve for plundering public money.

No country can progress when public officials and politicians take the law on to their hand and do what they please.

This is why countries have tight legal systems and upright justices to protect the public and miniorities. I congratulate the work done by your paper to expose this racket. I hope sanity prevails in our country even at least at this late stage.
