Should Malinga make a Test comeback?
Test cricket is considered the ultimate proving ground for any team looking to attach its name to immortality. Yet Sri Lanka’s most potent bowling weapon, Lasith Malinga, opted to withdraw from this traditional form of the game due to injury concerns. With the two Tests of the New Zealand tour of Sri Lanka inching ever closer, The Sunday Times chose to quiz the public as to whether the pace ace should return to Test cricket, and strengthen the Lankan team with his prodigious skill.
 Yes he should play because he is a renowned player and Sri Lanka needs such bowlers. Even many players in our (Bangladesh) team had injuries but they came back. And he is such a good player that he should be able to overcome any problems he has. - Ahmed (Bangladeshi national) |

 He should play Test cricket because he has been doing well. The only problem is that he is kind of in a ditch at the moment, but he should be okay because he is a very good bowler and he has very good variety. It all depends on how he performs.  He is only interested in playing in IPL matches. He doesn’t care about the team and that was evident at the last T20 world cup match. His best performances are in IPL matches.  According to my opinion I think he is good for One Day matches. His performance in One Day matches is good. When he plays in Test matches he gets exhausted and had he continued to play in Test matches his performance would have become weaker. - Nuwan Asela (Tour guide) |
