Australian College of Higher Learning (ACHL) to offer Australian Certified Diplomas in Sri Lanka

Australian College of Higher Learning (ACHL) proudly announces their Launch on Saturday 26 November 2011 at 9:00am at Wesley College Hall, Borella, followed by an Open Day from 10:30am to 4:00pm.

ACHL will offer students in for the first time Sri Lanka an opportunity of obtaining an Australian certified qualification that will comply within the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF).
Australian Education Partners: ACHL has partnered with three well established Registered Training Organisations (RTO) in Australia that have been operating for over 20 years in the Education and Training industry. The education partners are:

- Club Training Australia (CTA): CTA is the leading Private Registered Training Organisation (RTO) in the Queensland Hospitality and Business Sector. CTA hold significant Government contracts to deliver mandatory Australian training. CTA currently has 19 Australian tertiary training courses on its scope, including Diploma of Business, Diploma of Management, Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Hospitality, and Diploma of Tourism. Other areas of expertise include Apprentice Chefs (Commercial Cookery) and Regulatory training, both Australia wide and State of Queenstand.

CTA's lecturers are highly qualified, highly experienced and are experts in their respective fields.
CTA has an extensive client list including Hotels, Casinos and Government departments. These range from the smallest to the largest hospitality venues in Queensland, restaurant and catering franchises, major hotel groups, general businesses and small independent operators; the company generally has over 300 active clients in any 12 month period.

CTA delivers quality training to over 30,000 student lessons in hospitality each year to a wide range of hospitality clients, averaging around 1000 students per year. All of CTA's accredited training programs are recognised by several leading Australian Universities.

Senior Lecturer and General Manager of CTA, Jonathan Waller confirmed that "all of CTA's lecturers are qualified to train and assess students to National Australian Standards and create a pathway to further their education whilst enjoying an Australian lifestyle."

"The Diploma Program will be facilitated by certified CTA Lecturers in Sri Lanka over a period of 12 months. Students who complete a Diploma of Management, Business or Hospitality in Australia will go on to enjoy credit articulation into University Degrees and increased job opportunities."

Diplomas and Advanced Diplomas: This partnership ensures that all course content and resource material used for our training will comply with AQTF guidelines. Most diploma level qualifications will have 8 units except for Hospitality, which would comprise of 36 units including practical placements. Students will be assessed on completion of each unit. These assessments will be subsequently validated in Australia by the respective Registered Training Organizations. Students will be then awarded certificates on successful completion in Australia under the AQTF guidelines to meet with Australian certification and AQTF guidelines. Entry requirements for students to enroll for a Diploma will be 2 or 3 advanced level (A/Level) passes.
ACHL will offer in the first stage:
" Diploma of Management
" Diploma of Business
" Advanced Diploma of Management
" Diploma of Hospitality
" Diploma of Accounting
" Diploma of Project Management
ACHL will also have degree level qualifications and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) as part of their scope in the future.

Lecturers, Tutors and Trainers: All lecturers will be accredited by the Registered Training Organizations to meet the requirements under the (AQTF) Australian Quality Training Framework . They will also have to meet very high standards as required by the Registered Training Organization to train and lecture and they will be required to sit a Training and Assessment examination prior to being approved for training. When successful, they will be certified by the RTO. In addition, ACHL policy for engaging lecturers will be based on qualifications, experience and their ability to deliver effectively to their students. This would assure all students that they will be lectured by a very high quality panel of lecturers.

ACHL has partnered with Wesley College for use of their Campus: Classes will be held at Wesley College.

'FUTURE READY' - Your Pathway to Study in Australia: Is a unique program that ACHL has designed to assist students' with creating a pathway to study in Australia. ACHL has arrangements in place for students who successfully complete our Diplomas, that these qualifications will be recognised by Griffith University.

ACHL students with 3 A Levels plus ACHL Diploma would gain advanced standing (credit) as determined by the Griffith University Credit Office into a Bachelors program at the University.
ACHL students with 2 A Levels plus 1 year ACHL Diploma would gain entry into a first year Bachelors program at the University. ACHL has arrangements in place with Griffith University to assist such students with their enrolment.

ACHL could also assist students with their enrolment, who are looking at studying in Australia in a Bachelors program. For students who are looking at an opportunity to study in Australia for a Certificate or Diploma level, studying at a TAFE will be ideal for these students. ACHL has arrangements with two leading TAFE institutes in Queensland and will be able to assist these students with their enrolment.

Areas of study are Engineering, Nursing, Dental Science, Information Technology, Graphic Design, and Screen and Media. Information is available on other courses too.
