Promoting Ceylon Tea as a continuous world class product

Sri Lanka Tea or better known as Ceylon Tea had been promoted to a world class product by British Colonial Rulers who introduced tea to Sri Lanka by advertising about Ceylon Tea first in their colonial domains.

Anil Cooke, Chairman, Sri Lanka Tea Brokers' Association, elaborated on how the British introduced tea plantation to Sri Lanka and how they have promoted it to be world famous.

He said that abter the British, the Sri Lankan Tea Industry has been able to put 'Ceylon Tea' into the best slot in the Global Tea Market. He made these views at the Awards Ceremony of the Ceylon Speciality Tea of the Year - Japan 2010 held in Colombo last week, making a presentation on 'Ceylon Tea'.
