National University of Singapore briefs students on PhD scholarships
View(s):The Education Ministry and The National University of Singapore held a workshop in Colombo on Friday where 41 candidates nominated for a PhD scholarship were given an overview of the upcoming programmes.
The workshop provided a platform for nominated candidates to interact with NUS professors, receive guidance on preparing strong research proposals and enabled candidates to build relationships with potential supervisors for PhD studies.
Eight professors from NUS were at the workshop for the doctoral scholarships for the academic year 2026, offered by NUS.
An MoU was signed in May 2025 to strengthen educational cooperation, academic collaboration and research between the two countries.
In keeping with this, the Education Ministry has nominated 41 candidates to participate in the scholarship programme.
