Students from Kurunegala and Trincomalee attend Vision programme
View(s):Students from the Nikawewa Dewanampiyatissa Central College and the Revatha Children’s Home in Trincomalee participated in the Vision programme organised by the Presidential Secretariat on Thursday.
The programme, implemented jointly by the Presidential Secretariat, the Ministry of Education and the Parliament Department of Communication, is designed for school students.
Senior Additional Secretary to the President K M N Kumarasinghe, addressing the gathering, noted that life is like a book, containing not only joyful passages but also challenging chapters. He stressed that as the authors of their own lives, individuals have the ability to lead their stories towards a successful conclusion.
He urged the children to approach life with compassion, striving to make their own life stories successful and to become valuable citizens for the country.
Coinciding with the programme, a symbolic presentation of valuable saplings was made to highlight the importance of environmental conservation. The Vision magazine was also distributed among participants.
The event was attended by Major Nadika Dangolla, Assistant Director of the Presidential Secretariat’s Tri-Forces Coordination Unit, the Principal and teaching staff of Nikawewa Dewanampiyatissa Central College, as well as parents and other invitees.
