13th July 2019 was an eventful day at the Australasian Academy of Hospitality (AAH) Auditorium with many students after London O/Levels and A/Levels together with their parents gathered for an informative session with Australian Experts in the Hospitality Education and Industry at Large.

AAH being the only Australian owned higher education institution specializing in Hospitality Management programmes offer globally recognized Hospitality Qualifications in partnership with Evolution Hospitality Institute (EHI) one of the leading Hospitality Training Providers based in Sydney, Australia. Australian Government approved courses offered by EHI are within the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF).

Mr. James Christie, Head of Academic at AAH opened the forum with a presentation about skills and qualifications required in the Hospitality and Tourism industry to be successful. He took his own life and career spanning over 35 years in the international Hospitality Industry around the world and explained how the lucrative industry helped him to be who he is today.

He further stated the importance of practical experience for undergraduates and the very reason AAH providing a unique academic programme with paid internships in leading hotels in Sri Lanka and Overseas to make sure that the AAH graduates are work ready.

Ms. Naima Marker Director Academic of AAH based in Brisbane, Australia explained the importance of education and at the same time to acquire soft skills to pursue a successful career in the Hospitality and Tourism Sector and also the opportunities available for young and qualified individuals around the world.

Students and parents were taken around the AAH campus and showed the facilities and training rooms built according to Australian and International Standards.

Nishantha Jayasundara General Manager of AAH speaking at the event stated “AAH provides the Australian Qualification in Sri Lanka at a fraction of the cost of studying in Australia, maintaining the same delivery quality and learning outcome. The students who graduate in Sri Lanka receive the same AQF approved qualification and with Local and International internships embedded in the programme I am sure that our graduates outstand among their peers”
