Star performances from Gateway students at the Edexcel International GCSE and Advanced Level examinations

-Six students with 5 As at AS
-Thirty-eight students with 3 As or more at AS
Gateway students have achieved outstanding academic results at the Edexcel 2013 examinations. For the third successive year, Gateway has produced two more students – Jithran Ekanayake and Dulma Jayamanna who have achieved 12 A Stars each. Further, one student – Sathya Perera obtained 11 A Stars, two students – Raveena Weerabahu and Hashini Chandrathilake obtained 10 A Stars each, two students – Tharaka Kaluarachchige and Priyanka Thayalan obtained 9 A Stars each and six students – Hasitha Jayathilake, Kojitha Gunawardena, Devindee Nugawela, Roshine Linus, Raveen Senanayake, and Maryam Hamza secured 8 A Stars.
Also among the other high achievers are Nethmi Abeynayake, Heshani Ekanayake, Saritha Irugalbandara, Abinaya Jayaprakash, Marlish Ratnakumar, Bianka Beneragama and Dieon Tissera, who obtained 7 A Stars each. There were many students who achieved 6 and 5 A Stars each. The highlight of this year’s performance, however, is the 100% Pass rate of many subjects and a near 100% of the others.
At Advanced Level, two students – Samantha Modder and Judith Peiris received 4 A Stars each and four students – Judith Fernando, Udeshika Mendis, Sharujan Santoshkumar and Chamitha Guruge secured 3 A Stars each. Raising hopes for next year, six students – Navidu Samarakkodi, Dharshana Jayasundara, Isuri Ratnayake, Minuri Dharmasena, Sashini Iddawela and Dilini Eriyagama obtained 5 As each at the Advanced Subsidiary examination. The highlight of this year’s academic performance, however, is 38 students obtaining 3 As or more at the AS examination.
