An innovative approach for obtaining a prestigious Degree from a University has an advantage in the holistic development of the individual student. The result of this exercise is producing a creative, innovative and productive citizen who can contribute for the total quality development of the socio-economic conditions of the community. Thus, getting the best results from one’s University study means, to be surrounded by the best inspirational people, stimulating subject matter, extensive resources and support in all learning and teaching environments.

Education market today in Sri Lanka is flooded with many low-end university degree programmes. No apparent difference is made in one’s life-style that follows after completing such programmes. At the end of the day, unfortunately, such students receive no progress in terms of employability, economic benefits or in social status and personality, but just wasting their money and time in obtaining such degree qualifications.

A group of highly-qualified academics and professionals have identified this gap in the education industry and have come up with a solution by setting up a Global campus to address this issue. They aimed at producing globally accepted employees such as Managers, IT professionals, Engineers and Scientists who could excel in their chosen fields anywhere in the world.

These exercises obviously need the contribution of top-ranked professors in the education industry, from Sri Lanka as well from the leading international universities abroad. The international linkage is essential to get the benefit out of the most updated global findings and knowledge which is not otherwise available. Further, a student who desires to go global must have an international exposure in a developed country without which he/she cannot be a successful member of an international community.

Such a campus as GISM is a blessing in disguise for Sri Lankan students to earn the right Degree qualification in such streams as Management, Information Science, Technology and Engineering and Microbiology/Biotechnology/Biomedical/Biological Sciences that make the student different and recognized by the High-end Corporate and the society at large.

Presently, GISM has partnership agreements with two of the world’s best ranked universities, namely the Massey University in New Zealand and Edinburgh Napier University in the UK.

Massey University is one of the largest universities in New Zealand, Highly Ranked and World Class. Its ranking always lies within top 300 -400 universities in the world. Massey is also one of the few universities that has received Five-Star Quality Award for educational excellence. The Degrees conferred by this university is accepted worldwide. A few fortunate Sri Lankan students have limited opportunity to join these universities. Ten (10) best genuine students have the opportunities to join each of the FOUR stream of studies.
