Nugegoda Lyceum girls beat Wattala counterparts to win netball plum

The Under-13 netball team of Lyceum International School Nugegoda emerged champions at the Inter-International Schools Netball Tournament, which was held at Shalika Grounds in Narahenpita.

In an all-Lyceum final the Nugegoda lasses beat their counterparts from Wattala after an exciting battle. The tournament was organised by Leighton Park International School with many international schools taking part in the tournament.

The eventual winners beat all their opponents to reach the final. Binadi Diddeniya of Lyceum Nugegoda was adjudged the Netball Queen while her team-mate, Yischelle Lianne, won the Best Shooter award.

The team was coached by Biyanka Wathukara and Nilanthi Kothalawala while Darshika Kudaligama played a pivotal role as the teacher-in-charge.
